Classroom to Caregivers

Three Inspire Students Accepted into the Enloe Hospital Junior Volunteer Program
Classroom+to+Caregivers

Inspire School of Arts and Sciences once again showcases its students’ strong aptitude and continuous high achievements with three of our students recently being accepted into the Enloe Junior Volunteer Program for the 2024-2025 school year. Phoebe Parks (grade 10), MK Kidd (grade 11), and Sophie Nairz (grade 11) were all accepted for their great people skills, high GPAs, and eagerness to help people. These students will have the opportunity, starting June, to gain experience in the medical field assisting Enloe with delivering important lab samples, greeting and escorting patients, discharging patients, and more.

MK Kidd

Phoebe, MK, and Sophie applied online earlier this year by submitting letters of recommendation, vaccine records, and their transcripts. Sophie and MK also both wrote papers on how they’ve dedicated themselves to extracurriculars outside of school and why they wanted to be a part of the program. After their applications were reviewed and approved they were asked to come for an in person interview with the Enloe Junior Volunteer Program panel.

When asked why they chose to apply to this program MK Kidd responded, “I want to be a nurse. So it’s just good hospital experience.” Phoebe Parks also expressed her desire to become a nurse in the future and Sophie Nairz said she wishes to work in some kind of medical branch, possibly medical research or a doctor.

As for why these students were chosen to be a part of this program they clearly caught the eye of the Enloe Junior Volunteer Program coordinator and panel, but when asked why they think they were chosen they had this to say.

MK Kidd replied, “Well I have a lot of ambition for my future and I talked a lot about wanting to open doors for college opportunities as well as feeling motivated to help people and be involved in the community.”

Sophie Nairz

Sophie Nairz said, “I talked a lot about how I want to be able to help people and make a difference for people who are there because if you have to be at the hospital, it’s obviously for a pretty sucky reason. But I want to make it a little bit less awful because nurses and volunteers and stuff tend to make the experience a little bit better.”

And Phoebe Parks spoke on her friendliness and said she believes she had a “really good interview.”

Phoebe, MK, and Sophie are all very excited to begin volunteering for this program. This amazing opportunity is going to open countless doors for these

future nurses and doctors. With orientation on May 20th and and a few days of training in June, by the 26th these inspire students will be in uniform, working hard for the comfort of patients.Working hard to help the medical professionals. And working hard to further pave their personal paths towards a future career in the medical field.
